Sarah & Quang are a lovely couple I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the last few weeks. Originally from Vietnam, they had individually made their own ways to Finland, where they met and now live. It was a big stroke of luck that Sarah and I started talking, and before long I was shooting their pre-wedding pictures right here in Sweden.

It’s always interesting just to hear how different cultures handle weddings. For me, it was a surprise to learn that things like seeing the brides’ dress before the wedding day (and getting formal pictures in it, before the actual wedding) is normal – as is the huge amount of people they have at their weddings. Yes, weddings – plural! Sarah and Quang are having two celebrations in both of their cities in Vietnam, each with a 200+ people count. Sarah even told me that this was ‘small’ compared to a ‘normal’ count of about 500+. Sounds like a party!

I’ll have to take their word for it though – unfortunately I won’t be there to photograph their big day, but I’m already looking forward to meeting them both again and hearing all about it, once all is done and they’re back visiting Sweden again. Sarah and Quang: I wish you all the best!
